DAY BY DAY

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) which is about 50Km away from Arusha city. You will be met by your Safari guide, who will then take you to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, taking with you lunch hampers, you will make your way to Arusha National Park, with its diverse montane alpine vegetation located on the base of Mt.Meru.

Despite its proximity to the small town from where it bears its name, Arusha National Park is a small perfectly formed heaven for a wide range of birds, primates and mammals, making it a Photography Heaven too. A number of endemic species add allure for ornithologists, whilst the acrobatics and flowing finery of the Black and White Colobus monkeys that bound across the canopy of the semi-montane forest. Enjoy the day photographing the birds in their habitats before heading back for Dinner and overnight in Arusha City.

Today, you will depart for Tarangire National Park with a lunch hamper – Tarangire Park is a Birder’s paradise, hosting more breeding species than any other habitat in the world including several endemic species such as a shy starling and orange parrot. It also boasts of a huge count of elephants – approximately 5500. Morning and afternoon game drives in Tarangire National park for both days to capture maximum birds and animals in your lens.

Today you will head to THE SERENGETI (Africa’s leading national park for three consecutive years 2019-2021). Serengeti means “endless plains” in Ki-Maasai. Drive through the East African Escarpment into the Ngorongoro Highlands, and stop along the way at Olduvai Gorge. Located between Lake Natron and Lake Eyasi, the gorge is an archeological site of immense importance, before finally descending 300ft into the volcanic Serengeti plains. Enjoy your first game drive into the endless plains with sumptuous lunch hampers prepared in a special home kitchen just for you.

The Serengeti will be your home for the next three days for maximum photography experiences.

Serengeti is known for its amazing biodiversity & abundant wildlife full of vitality, flowers blooming, birds breeding, and lush rich life everywhere. Spend the next two days photographing, exploring and capturing the abundant birdlife of Serengeti.

Add a balloon safari over the Serengeti for an extraordinary photographic experience.

Add a visit to Olduvai Gorge Museum for a historic experience.

The Day will start with an early morning game drive, passing through the kopjes and bidding farewell to the aves of  Serengeti, you will then head towards the Ngorongoro highlands, gaining your first view of this incredible natural wonder. The Ngorongoro Conservation area is a pioneering experiment where the indigenous people (the Masai), their livestock and the wildlife co-exist and share the same protected habitat. It is not unusual to see the Masai people grazing their herds in the morning or afternoon in the vicinity of the crater. You may spend the afternoon trekking to the Empakai Crater with a trained and experienced ranger, exploring the bird life on foot. Dinner and overnight on the Crater rim. On the second day, starting at the golden light you will descend into the caldera for a day of game viewing taking picnic hampers to enjoy on the crater floor. The stunning spectacle of this Unesco World Heritage site, with its steep walls falling some 610m to the floor, it is undoubtedly one of the highlights of a safari in Tanzania. The conservation area is a home of over 500 bird species ranging from endemic species, migratory and forest birds which make it one of the best birding destinations in Tanzania. Photography in the caldera will be at your disposal.     Add a trekking experience in to the Empakai Crater Add a bush lunch in a private picnic site on the crater floor for an extraordinary experience Add a visit to a Masai Boma to experience the indigenous culture.

After breakfast, proceed towards Lake Manyara National Park which is an unexpected Oasis of Tropical ground forest, nestled deep at the foot of the western escarpment that looms over the Great African Rift Valley .The eponymous lake is a shallow alkaline lake, one of the many that bejewel the Rift Valley supporting vast flocks of flamingo that daub pink swathes across the African Horizon at sunset.

The think clumps of rainforest that border the lake harbor an exotic kaleidoscope of birds and monkeys, the dense canopy alive with the chatter and squawks of the tropical menagerie. A full day of Photography at your disposal, before dinner and an overnight rest in one of the exquisite lodges of Karatu.

Add a cultural visit of an indigenous tribe for an extraordinary experience.

Today you will be transferred to Manyara airstrip for a 3 hrs flight onboard a light aircraft to Katavi in Western Tanzania. On arrival, you will be met and transferred by a driver-guide, undertaking a game-drive on the way back to your camp. Katavi is a beautiful and remote park with a handful of camps. 

After lunch, you will have some time to rest before an afternoon game drive in an open sided 4×4 vehicle. This type of vehicle provides the very best in opportunities to see and photograph the abundant birdlife and animals of the park. Birdlife here is spectacular as rare species call it home.

Begin the second day with an early morning walking safari, which is not to be missed as the light for photography is ideal at this time, as well as the birdlife is at its full energetic form.

Once again a small hop will take you to Lake Tanganyika and Mahale National Park, which is on the far western border of Tanzania. The aircraft lands near the shores of the magnificent Lake Tanganyika, Africa’s deepest lake. The park is one of the most remote and beautiful in Tanzania. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your camp just in time for lunch. 

Spend the afternoon admiring and photographing the panoramic views of the steep Mahale Mountains rising up behind your camp and the sights and sounds of the Birds.
The second day will be spent trekking the Mahale Forest in search of the abundant bird life of Mahale.

Photographing the birds in the forest in their natural habitat is a truly fascinating and exhilarating experience. Apart from the birds, the chimpanzees, the pristine water of the lake are the perfect way to unwind and relax.

Add snorkelling and kayaking for an extraordinary experience

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the Kigoma airstrip for your flight to Kilimanjaro or Dar es Salaam. A Dayroom can be booked for your comfort in either of the two stations.

Add an extension to Rubondo Island for more photographic experiences.
