DAY BY DAY

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) which is about 50Km away from Arusha city. You will be met by your Safari guide, who will then take you to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

A Six to Seven hour drive to THE SERENGETI (Africa’s leading national park for three consecutive years 2019-2021), Serengeti means “endless plains” in Ki-Maasai. Drive through the East African Escarpment into the Ngorongoro Highlands, and stop along the way at Olduvai Gorge. Located between Lake Natron and Lake Eyasi, the gorge is an archeological site of immense importance, before finally descending 300ft into the volcanic Serengeti plains, your home for the next four days. Enjoy the photography experience and game drive into Central Serengeti with sumptuous lunch hampers prepared in a special home kitchen just for you.

Photography from sunrise to sunset- follow the daily movements of the herds in their search for fresh grazing, the predators abound and search for those secretive species, like leopards, as well as the more visible species, like lions. Expect to see frequent kills and also photograph the assemblage of peripheral animals such as vultures, jackals and hyenas who wait patiently to claim their share of this abundance, and so much more at your discretion and for your lenses to capture.

Add a balloon safari over the Serengeti for an extraordinary photographic experience.

Your destination today, is in the area where the wildebeest give birth to their calves as the rich grass helps them produce sufficient milk. In the Southern Serengeti ecosystem the soil is regularly renewed by volcanic ash, producing some of the richest grassland in East Africa. Photography of this experience and of the endless plains at your discretion while driving through the Kopjes towards Naabi hill gate and for dinner at your accommodation.

Begin your second day with an early morning game drive for a fantastic experience, as you will witness millions of wildebeest scattered in the plains as far as your eye can see. It is a phenomenal spectacle. This is a glorious time of the year to photograph in the southern grasslands of the Serengeti. Thousands upon thousands of very young calves and foals are interspersed among the throng of adult wildebeest and Zebras. Large prides of lions stalk these herds while sleek cheetahs prey on the accompanying gazelles and impalas. Photography opportunities will be between two locations in the Southern Serengeti to ensure good access to large herds and a diversity of other wildlife, habitats and movements.

At sunrise you may encounter various species of animals grazing in the golden morning light where predators are known to be at large. Cheetahs can be spotted on the plains in the mornings when temperatures are not too high. After a memorable morning drive, you will return to your lodge for lunch and enjoy some downtime. After your afternoon tea, you have the option for a second game drive to explore and photograph the vastness of the Ndutu terrain or relax at the Lodge.

Today, you will head to the rim of the Ngorongoro crater gaining your first views of this incredible natural wonder. You descend into the caldera for a day of Photography and game viewing taking a picnic hamper to enjoy on the crater floor. The stunning spectacle of this Unesco World Heritage site, with its steep walls falling some 610m to the floor, it is undoubtedly one of the highlights of a safari in Tanzania. The crater floor is home to thousands of plain animals, including the rare black rhino. The number of resident black rhinos is increasing, so you may be lucky to see some of them against the spectacular backdrop of the caldera’s cliff face. The Ngorongoro Conservation area is a pioneering experiment where people (the Masai), their livestock and the wildlife co-exist and share the same protected habitat. It is not unusual to see the Masai people grazing their herds in the morning or afternoon in the vicinity of the crater. Photography in the caldera will be at your disposal.

Add a bush lunch in a private picnic site on the crater floor for an extraordinary experience.

Add a trekking experience in to the Empakai Crater.

After a hearty breakfast, a three hour drive will take you to yet another beautiful Park- Tarangire National Park , which is famous for its elephant herds (some of the largest in Africa), a plethora of baobab trees and two distinctive species of antelopes: the fringed-eared Oryx and the Gerenuk. The name Tarangire is derived from the River Tarangire, which acts as a magnet for the wildlife during the dry season.

Morning and afternoon game drives in Tarangire National park for both days to capture maximum birds and animals in your lens.

Add a night game drive for an extraordinary experience.

Today will be the last day of your safari. A three hour drive will take you back to Arusha, from where you will be transferred to Kilimanjaro international airport for your flights home.

Optional day room can be arranged before transferring to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your outbound flight back home.

Add an extension to a beach holiday in one of the Tanzanian Indian Ocean Islands.
